Built for the Long Game.

Because Women Can PAC is building the infrastructure, relationships, and resources that give qualified women the opportunity to lead.

Why We Exist

"Changing who leads requires investing before Election Day."

Because Women Can PAC was established with a simple but powerful conviction: that talented, experienced, and committed women should have the political infrastructure, financial resources, and organizational support necessary to compete and win.

Too often, qualified women are ready to lead but lack access to the networks, donors, and institutional relationships that make campaigns viable. BWC PAC exists to close that gap — not just for one election cycle, but for the long term.

We are building a national organization that identifies promising leaders early, connects them to the resources they need, and stays with them through the full arc of their public service careers.

Our Values

Pragmatic Leadership

We support women who are prepared to govern — leaders who combine vision with the practical skills to deliver results for the communities they serve.

Long-Term Investment

We build relationships and infrastructure that outlast any single election cycle, creating a durable pipeline of women prepared to lead at every level.

Inclusive Excellence

We believe the strongest leadership reflects the full diversity of American life — in background, experience, geography, and perspective.

Results-Oriented Service

We are committed to effective government and stronger communities. We support leaders who measure success by what they deliver for the people they represent.

Strong candidates need more than a moment. They need infrastructure.

A Lifetime of Leadership.

A New Chapter of Service.

Founding Leader, Because Women Can PAC

Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman has spent more than four decades in public service — building a record of principled leadership, historic firsts, and an unwavering commitment to expanding opportunity for all Americans.

"I have spent my career trying to make sure that the doors I walked through stayed open for the women who came after me. That is what Because Women Can PAC is about."

— Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, Founding Leader, BWC PAC

Bonnie Watson Coleman began her public service career in the New Jersey General Assembly, where she served for more than two decades. She made history as the first African American woman to serve as Majority Leader of the New Jersey General Assembly — a milestone that reflected both her political skill and the trust of her colleagues. Throughout her time in Trenton, she was a consistent advocate for working families, civil rights, healthcare access, and educational opportunity.

In 2014, Congresswoman Watson Coleman was elected to represent New Jersey's 12th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, becoming the first African American woman elected to Congress from New Jersey. She served on the House Appropriations Committee and the House Homeland Security Committee, where she was a leading voice on civil rights, immigration, gun violence prevention, and national security. She was a founding member of the Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls.

Throughout her career, Congresswoman Watson Coleman has been defined not only by her own historic achievements but by her commitment to creating pathways for the next generation. She has mentored emerging leaders, championed policies that expand opportunity, and used her platform to elevate voices that have too often been excluded from the rooms where decisions are made.

As she prepares for the next chapter of her public life, Congresswoman Watson Coleman is channeling her decades of experience, relationships, and commitment into Because Women Can PAC. BWC PAC is the platform through which her network, knowledge, and passion for public service will help develop and support the next generation of women leaders — ensuring that the doors she helped open remain open for those who follow.
